The artist is most well known for his ship paintings in harbors, similar to this one. Greenwood was a very active painter, completing most of his works in or near Liverpool. In 1895 he traveled to the United States to paint which is why many of his work in the mid to late 1890’s are of US scenes and are in american art collections.
