Sculpted in vibrant colors and intricate detail, his animal balloon series transforms powerful creatures into delicate forms, suspended or balanced as if floating. Each piece is made from hollow glass—featuring animals such as African and Asian elephants, black and white rhinos, giraffes, hippos, sharks, and whales. Hours of precise craftsmanship go into creating these deceptively simple forms. After shaping, they are sandblasted to a soft, frosted finish, then strung with copper wire, hand-forged to mimic curling ribbon, and anchored by small weights. The gentle sway of the wire completes the illusion of real balloons caught in motion.

Balloons evoke celebration, childhood, and wonder—emotions mirrored in the iconic animals he choose, which often hold nostalgic or personal meaning. For many of us, a favorite animal carries into adulthood, and reimagining these creatures as balloons feels both joyful and familiar.

But beneath the whimsy lies a deeper message. Many of these animals are endangered, their lives as fragile as glass. Some works, like the rhino with bound legs, subtly reference the human-made threats they face. These sculptures walk a line between playfulness and reality—serving as both a celebration of beauty and a quiet warning of loss.
